I've been turning about 10 years. Before that, I had an interest in woodcarving, especially 3-dimensional figures. I discovered woodturning when I saw Norm Abram making a table leg on the New Yankee Workshop. I realized that you can finish a turning alot faster than a carving, so I was hooked! I am mostly self-taught by books & videos, and I have attended many AAW and local chapter symposia to see new techniques and ideas. I was born and raised in Kingsport, TN, and lived for a few years in Durham, NC, before returning to Knoxville, Tennessee to attend UT. I now live in Maryville, where I am Business Planning supervisor for Denso Mfg., where I've worked for 10 years. My other hobbies include photography, hiking, and cycling, and an occasional attempt to play golf. |
