Cumberland Woodturners

John Orban Jr.

I am a disabled Viet Nam Vet (U.S. Army) and a retired Government worker of 37 years. I was an electronic technician for half of my career and then switched to Contracting Officer’s Rep and finally a Site Manager of Intelligent Electronic Warfare Site at Ft. Bragg, NC where I retired.

I started in woodworking in the 7th grade junior high school but did not get into woodworking seriously until 1972. I spent so much time in the wood shop that my wife (Barb) decided if she wanted to be able to spend any time with me she might as well get into wood working. Thus, started our partnership of making custom furniture and crafts. We started going to small flea markets and graduated to judged craft shows. We love working with our hands and creating unique and useful items that will last for generations. We have opened our business at our home at 5248 Vandever Rd., Crossville, TN 38572 called “Wood Crafts Plus LLC”. Our store front just opened so come on in and see us.
